New Member/Investor from Pittsburgh, PA - Excited to Learn

Hello BP,

My name is Tom Lacey and I live just outside of Pittsburgh.  I am a happily married 35 year old father of 2 boys.  I currently work for a very large medical products company as a Project Manager for our Chinese Manufacturing facility.  Travelling there 3-4 times a year.  I want to start my real estate investment journey this year with an end goal of replacing my income.  Allowing me to take control of how I spend my time every day.

I have a degree in plastics engineering, a strong knowledge of carpentry and home improvements and an entrepreneurial spirit that has been growing since I started my own lawn service at age 12.

Currently, I am taking the courses necessary to sit for the PA Real Estate license exam.  I know this is not 100% necessary to buy a property, but it was a tangible investment that is helping to keep me focused on learning about real estate.  As opposed to thinking about starting this kind of company, grow my carpentry business, buy houses, make videos for youtube...the list goes on and on about what my brain thinks about to make money.  I have a goal of getting my license by July 4th, 2016.

I am currently looking into multi family properties all over the city.

I look forward to continuing to learn from the community here and eventually from face to face discussions with people in my local area.
