New member from Bridgeport, CT relocating to Cape Coral

Greetings All,

Hello, I'm Jamal Stroman. I've spent most of my adult life living in Bridgeport, CT with only a few school years in Raleigh, NC. I've been interested in REI for years, decades actually, and even did a short stint as an agent. Carlton Sheets NO MONEY DOWN was my first RE educational purchase. Since then, I've sporadically read books and newsletters and listened to some audio programs. On March 11, I had my REI fire reignited when I attended a Rich Dad/Legacy Education 3-day basic real estate investing course. I didn't stay for the 3rd day because I'd heard all I needed to hear after day 2 was over. I finally understand the level of commitment and focus required and I'm ready to make it happen.

Currently, I work as a Technical Support Representative Lead for a large cable company that operates in the New York Metropolitan Area. So when you ask to speak to a supervisor, I'm who you talk to. I also own one fully rented duplex in my home town. My goal is to relocate to Florida's gulf coast and build a buy-and-hold RE portfolio commensurate with my current salary, while simultaneously reducing living expenses. I'm not chasing a lavish lifestyle, just one in a warmer climate and one that will allow me more control over how I spend my time. I look forward to connecting with members from the Cape Coral area, as I intend to move there within 6 to 9 months.

I found BP with a Google search and started listening to the podcasts with @brandonturner and @joshdorkin on Youtube. The podcast really added value to my REI education so I decided to visit biggerpockets.com. What I found truly floored me! WOW! You mean there a website/social network offering priceless educational opportunities and networking for free membership! I signed up immediately.
