Updated almost 9 years ago,
Hello from the Fort Wayne Indiana area! :)
Hello everyone!
I'm new to the PB community and the world of REI, so figured I should introduce myself.
I am originally from California (Redding), but I have been living in Indiana (south of Fort Wayne), for the past 7 or 8 years. My wife and I bought our first home in Bluffton in 2013 (we converted a duplex back into a single family home), but up till now that’s been the extent of my real estate experience!
A few years ago I read “Rich Dad Poor Dad,” followed by Timothy Farriss’ book “4 Hour Work Week." Among others, those books changed my perspective on things, and at the time I jumped head first into the world of product creation and e-commerce. Long story short, through trial and error (and a multitude of invaluable lessons!) I closed the business the very end of 2015.
Having always had and interest REI, I was was introduced to a Real Estate Investing course... Through that process found the BP community. Since then have been consuming everything in sight. I'm an avid reader, so in additional to several other real estate investing books, I've read the "Ultimate Guide to REI," the "No (and Low) Money Down" book by Brandon Turner, and am almost finished with J Scott's book "The-Book-On-Flipping-Houses." I also went through the PB course, "A Beginner's Introduction to Real Estate Investing."
When I commit to something I tend to go at it pretty hard, however I know myself well enough to realize that if I’m not careful, analysis can be my downfall. So this is one of the reasons I completed my BP profile and am writing this post… it forces me to announce my goals, begin networking, and stay accountable.
So there you have it! I would love connect with other likeminded individuals in the area, and am excited to glean from the wisdom and experience of the BP community.
Thanks everyone!
John-Thomas
