New member from the halls of Montezuma
Greetin's BP,
I'm Wes from Montezuma, Iowa. I'm 47 years old. I work on houses for a living (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, some carpentry).
I'm "new" to REI. I say "new" because I had two properties with renters 18 years ago, but I wasn't really into the whole landlord thing. I was kind of forced into it by circumstances. One renter was awesome, one was horrible. Plus, I had other interests.
But now I'm interested in investing. My main reasons? Passive income, transitioning into a new career (my current employer is looking to sell his business), working something that I can do with my wife and kids, retirement.
I'm hoping to use my knowledge of homes in my investing.
I have so much to learn, that's why I'm here.
I love the fact that people on this site have a sense of humor.
