Hello Everyone

My name is Wharton Paul Smith IV. I usually go by Paul. I currently work as an engineer and enjoy the challenges it presents on a daily basis. At the same time, I would like to be able to not work for someone else forever. 

I originally was not thinking a lot about real estate investing till about 3 years ago. I started looking toward a future dream of living on a small farm in western TN. While in the process of closing, my company asked me to move part way across the county. I suddenly found myself with two rental properties and no real home. Since that move, I have moved again and hopefully have a more permanent base. My fiance is focused on accounting and learning about how to make money. She came across Biggerpockets and said I should come on here to learn more about real estate investing from other people and not just books. 

My goal in real estate is to help reduce my need to have my primary income and allow me to have a more free life. I would prefer to focus on buy and hold strategies; however, i enjoy learning about everything. I look forward to continuing to learning from everyone.
