Hello everyone! My name is Lane Mobley and my wife Aarika and I are currently moving back to Georgia, in the Columbus area. I have lived there previously, back in 2008-11. We are looking to begin buying duplexes and quadplexes there. I am in the military and will be using by VA loan for one MFR. For other properties we will use conventional financing and start to try using seller financing as well as private equity. Our strategy is to purchase small MFRs to buy and hold, for cashflow. There is not a lot of appreciation in the Columbus market, but there are some great buys there because the majority of people there are military and focus on single family homes or are in college and are not concerned with buying property. I do have a team setup, and will be using LLCs to hold properties in. Eventually, we are looking to exchange (1031) out of Columbus, 10 or so years later, into somewhere with both great rents and capital gains. We love the BP podcast and keep hearing about the benefits of this blog so we are excited to network and learn from you all!
