Inner City School Teacher, Knoxville, TN

My name is John Morgan. I have a wife and a daughter named Addison as well as a son that is due in April. I am a third grade teacher in an Inner-city school in North Knoxville and am originally from Dallas, Texas. I am looking to get into real estate investing through Fix and Flips as well as Rentals. Right now I have spent the last 6 months reading books on real estate investing and am looking to start to get plugged in around town. I am currently on spring break and, while watching my daughter throughout the day, am creating my "business plan" on what I want to achieve in real estate.

@John Morgan First - just curious, are you teaching at West Haven?

Investing in real estate is definitely something you can learn. Think of it as a foreign language. It is easy to learn 100 words but sentence structure and conversation take time. At the KnoxREIA.com meetings we caution everyone to never be in a hurry to invest and 90% of what you need to learn is free.

The Knox Metro Area is diversified, stable and growing but it is definitely income limited as to how much can be charged for rent and housing. I suggest you go to YouTube.com/KnoxREIA to see a range of topics which are important to active investors in Knoxville. Especially watch the videos highlighting our Disclaimer and Split-Foyer remodel.

Good Luck,
