I am in the accounting field and live about 40 minutes west of Washington, DC.  My wife and I own one rental property -- a 3 bedroom townhouse  about 5 miles from my residence. We also own a 3 acre lot in a remote area of Virginia about 2 hours from our residence. Our interest is in understanding how to locate, analyze, select, and buy a second rental property and the potential to generate income by building a rental on the land I own.  We would also like to gather information on how to optimize the income from my existing rental property.  I had bookmarked BiggerPockets several years ago, but signed-up today after listening to podcast on Radical Personal Finance.
