New member living in Brooklyn

Hello BP Community!. 

My name's Tom Fabian. Ive been on the blogs now for a while and listening to the podcasts, and realized I need to start getting more interactive on here.  I'm currently living in Brooklyn and working in the city.

My goals in real estate are pretty modest, I'd like to get a few deals under my belt in the near future (within 12 months).  I believe that buy and hold are a little more of my interest right now, but I'm still trying to figure out my niche in investing.  I've been in NYC now for a while, but would be interested in possibly investing in the Poconos as well, since that's where I'm from.  

Experience wise, I haven't done any deals yet, however I've really been taking the time to educate myself.  I see myself as pretty ambitious and am an MEP Engineer which does give me some relevant real estate knowledge.
