I have always wanted to work on houses, my husband is a maintenance repair man and can fix just about anything. I am just in the learning phase of investment properties. We bought our duplex over 12 years ago. Needed a lot of TLC cosmetically, and did the work ourselves. We live on one side, my brother on the other side. We've been saving to buy a place on the beach for our retirement and renting it out before we retire. But I now think it's too early to buy on the island since we would only be able to go there twice a year and worry that it would be hard to manage from 500 miles away. I stumbled on this site from a utube video and am so excited about learning all I can from this very informative website.
