Hello,

My name is Michael Gardner I am new to this site and hope to learn more about real estate investing. I currently live in Los Angeles but, I am originally from the Metro Detroit area. I work as a freelance crew member on TV shows, commercials and movies. I am interested in buy and hold investing.  I've just begun my journey into real estate investing education and I can already tell that this site will be very helpful.  I hope to start looking for my first deal this year!

@Michael GardnerWelcome to BP.

I was a 1st camera assistant in the film and TV industry in LA for 30 years. I know that once you get going in the industry you'll be making some decent money (keep it  - don't spend it like everyone else) and that you'll have plenty of down time unless you work on episodics. Use that time to advance your real estate knowledge. There are plenty of real estate clubs all over SoCal which you can find on meetup.com. Find the ones around you that will teach what you want to learn and get you to meet other investors doing what you want to do.

Since you're interested in buy and hold you might be interested the Cash Flow game meetups.

Good luck.
