Hi Guys and Gals! so I'm not normally good at these kinds of things. so I'm going to pull some things from the how to introduce yourself guide. By some I mean all. then I will go on a tangent about myself I suppose.

1. Please try and mention where you're from in your post titles.

Done. Off to a good start.

2. In making your introduction, tell us a bit about yourself.

My name Is Jeremy. My background in real estate is purchasing a house. I will close on it March 10th. but it isn't one that i am going to rent out to people it is my primary residence. I actually have a spectacular realtor and i am hoping to use her in my future endeavors. But I want to wait until after i close my house to delve into that. And actually I am kinda using my primary home as a rental property as i have 2 friends that live with me and cover over half of the mortgage.

My goals in real estate are to become financially free. My childhood was not the best but my mom did everything she could as a single mother of three. until she met her husband when i was 10. I by no means had it rough but it was not easy. having my mom explain why she could not buy me a toy because she needed to buy food for us was not a great memory. I later joined the Marine Corps. I never got in trouble in the Marines but one of the primary punishments of the Marines, if you got in trouble or did something illegal, was to reduce your pay. And lets face it as a little PFC making 600, estimated it has been awhile, dollars a month we were not making a lot of money anyway.  All of this led me to want to be financially free. I dont want money to control me or my future.

I work in a job that I absolutely love and am by no means under compensated but if i dont have the job i dont get paid. Honestly if I got to the point of making a million dollars a month i think i would still go to work at my job. I love it I am a Systems Administrator and I love it. Working on servers, rolling out updates, fixing issues reported by clients is just amazing. I am very lucky to love my job.

I came to join bigger pockets because I have been looking for anything and everything in regards to learning about real estate. I read rich dad poor dad when i was 17 and probably about 10 times since then. I forgot how but i stumbled on the books published by them on real estate investment probably about 6 moths ago. I have heard most of them through audible or purchasing the audio books several times. and the more i listened while playing video games the more i thought i could do this. So I started to read and research mroe and more. I started telling people what i was going to do about 3 months ago. I was to the point where the books i got and I understood EVERYTHING!! or i thought.. so i started looking into real estate and looking for the house that was going to be my first purchase. I was going to do it, talk to the accountant, talk to the lawyer, set up my LLC and I am on my way.

I forget how but i found the podcasts on youtube for bigger pockets. started listening and went to the site thinking Brandon and Josh may know what they are talking about. Then i saw mention of the 50% rule and 2% rule. I looked into those and thought to myself.. you know nothing john snow.. wait no sorry.. I thought to myself i dont know enough enough to get started investing in real estate. I started to listen to the podcasts and doing more research into these rules. I ordered more books "The Millionaire Mind", "4 Hour Work Week", "Hop On Pop" and others.

That pretty much brings us up until now.

3. Once you've introduced yourself, please check back with your post.

Will do.

4. Reciprocate and welcome other new members to the site.

I'll try I'm not great at these things and dont have much to offer.

5. Please do not use your introduction as a sales pitch!

Don't have much to sell..

6. Don't just stop engaging after introducing yourself.

I plan to ask plenty of questions.

Well that sums up that. for those of you that are wondering no that is not a picture of me. That is a picture of my dog. Princess. She is not spoiled at all I promise... On a more serious note if you have gotten to this point in reading you know a little bit about me. I don't have a lot to offer. If you have computer questions i am more than happy to help. First piece of advice in regards to computers though. Try restarting seriously fixes a lot.

Thanks for reading and I am hoping I can later contribute in some meaningful way to the site.
