New Member from Los Angeles!
Hi All,
I am a child psychologist and professor here in Los Angeles. I just bought a primary residence about 5 years ago and have been working on ways to get into real estate. I was reading The 4hr Workweek and am working on whittling down my long workdays with some passive income! I will be investing in buy and hold properties and hope to do so in areas where home prices are WAY lower than LA! (yes, go ahead and say it "that means almost anywhere!"). My two year goal is to own enough properties where my cash flow is equal to or greater than my take home monthly pay.
I love food, music, dance and world travel. I have been to over 22 countries with lots and lots more to go! I am very excited to have found this website, the podcast (I am neglecting other podcasts for the BP podcast!) and this forum. Forums are somewhat new to me still, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it...
Looking forward to learning and working toward my goals!

Welcome to BP Jennifer! I think Ali gave you some great recommendations of cities to invest in. As I would recommend to everyone investing out of their area, be very careful, Numbers can be very deceiving. In my opinion it is always good to do all your research and talk to lots of people in the cities your looking to invest in. Once you have done your due diligence, fly out and go look at some properties in person and get a feel of the area. I can only speak for Indianapolis but it is a very street by street and block by block type of area. It is very important to have a good team on the ground that can help point you in the right direction.
Best of luck in 2016 and if I can be of any additional help, please feel free to contact me. Once again, welcome to BP!!!
