American, living overseas, looking to invest back in America

Hello! My name is Mike Orbinpost. I have been listening to the Bigger Pockets podcast for the past several months, and am now getting serious about starting investing in real estate. I currently live in Korea, but am interested in investing back in the US.

I am interested in rental properties to eventually provide long term income. Because of time and distance involved I am currently interested in turnkey properties, primarily on the east coast, as that is where I am from. My intent is to use turnkey properties to start my practical education on long term buy and hold rentals.

At this point, I am going through the forum and blogs to try to clarify my vision of my goals and business plan. Thanks for the great forum, and I look forward to working with the community!

    Hi Mike, Welcome to BP!!

That sounds quite familiar to me. I'm currently living in Tokyo with the same aspirations of continuing to invest in the US. Fortunately, I've managed to hook up with a great group of fellow BPers here, and I'm happy to say Seoul has an amazing REI group as well.

Try getting in touch with @Daniel Ryu. He runs the Seoul REI Meetup, and is incredibly knowledgable with overseas investing in the US.

    Best of luck!
