Updated almost 9 years ago,
Hello!
I'm a new member and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm brand new to real estate and am just about to start my classes to get my broker's license. My true interest lies in real estate investing. I'm hoping to purchase, renovate and sell some homes this year with my husband (who is also currently enrolled in classes for his broker's license). As I wrote in my profile, I am currently a casting director working out of my home office and collaborating with a LA-based show developer. For the past 8 months, my job has been to find and interview real estate investors all over the country for a new home renovation show for HGTV. After having interviewed tons of "house flippers," I became inspired by all the stories I've heard and that's what sparked my passion to pursue this for myself. I want to become financially free and not be tied to the standard 9-5 job. Real estate seems to offer that level of flexibility and, though I know it will take lots of hard work, it also seems like it can be very fun and rewarding. So I'm really excited to learn more! I would love any recommendations on books to read for a beginner like myself. I also enjoy listening to webinars, etc. There's just so many to choose from online but I want to make sure I learn from the right people, so any suggestions would be helpful. And also, if anyone who reads this is interested in learning more about the show I'm casting for or would like to submit, don't hesitate to reach out. Until I'm up and running with my broker's license, I will continue to work in casting since I know it will take some time to gain momentum in the REI world. Anyways, thanks for reading my post. Cheers!
