Taking the first step towards living the Dream
Hello Everyone
I would like to start off by saying thanks for taking the time to read my post. Just like everyone else here I understand how powerful real estate investing is. I listen to the biggerpockets podcast, I have read and still reading all the book on real estate (currently reading the book on rental property investing by Brandon Turner). Of course on paper everything looks like its a no bainer as to what I need to do to succeed but I think I still need some help getting over the edge.
I plan on moving to California (Ventura) in the near future. I will be living in whatever home I buy when I move there. My current plan is to invest in small multifamily homes or traditional single family homes. The ideal goal is if I were to acquire a duplex I would live in one unit and rent out the other. If I cant find a duplex I will get a single family home but wont really expect a ROI until I move out from the area, which will be about two years after I move in.
I have already begun the searching process and I guess because this is my first buy I am really apprehensive about it. I just want to minimize as many mistakes as I can and try not to leave any rock un-turned so to speak. If there is anything you guys can share with me I would really appreciate it. I want to get to the level that you guys are all at. Once again thank you.
