Looking to start out with a multi-family unit in or near Detroit
Hello Bigger Pockets members! I've been hearing how awesome this community is for a few months now and finally decided to check it out. I've lurked here for a few days and I have to agree!
In late December, at 35 years old I came into a very nice sized windfall in the form of company stock options. This turbulent time for the market so far in 2016 has wiped out half of my "expected" profits. I did pull enough out early on to pay off my own home, so I am currently debt free besides my 0% apr auto loan.
My plan is to learn as much as possible here on BP and diversify a big chunk of what's left over into local real estate. I live in a suburb of Detroit which I gather can be tricky but is priced for cash flow if done right. I'm interested in starting off with a local 4+ door multi-family unit. I just don't want to make any huge missteps when getting started. I look forward to learning from the pros here on BP.
