New investor living in Southern California
Hi everyone,
I am a new investor (better yet, a newly educated investor since being on BP) living in Oceanside, CA.
Currently, my wife and I have a personal - turned rental home in VA and a home in CA that we are planning to turn into a rental (if it makes sense) once we leave CA next year.
Just a little about me:
I am active duty, as is my wife; however, I plan to retire next year and go into REI full time. My goals are to become licensed in real estate, to purchase buy and hold properties, and to flip homes. As far as our preferred locations, we are considering TX (wife is from here), VA (since we have a home here already), FL, and/or GA. For our home in CA, we are on the fence about renting or selling it since this is a tenant friendly state.
We are open to multifamily rentals; however, feel a bit more comfortable with SFRs. Of course once we’ve become more experienced, this wouldn’t be much of an issue.
I plan to learn as much as possible from BP and look forward to networking with you all.
