Greetings from Asbury Park (well, not exactly)

But I am from the NJ shore. I gather this site is intended mainly for those whose interest in real estate is profit. I've nothing at all against profit, but that isn't my reason to be here. My wife and I are looking to purchase an off-grid vacation retreat property qua retirement estate in the Western Virginia/Eastern Tennessee area (where the Blue Ridge and Smokies meet, basically). I'm hoping to find some tips here on searching for foreclosure and possibly MLS listings that are appropriate to our needs. I apologize in advance if this kind of use of the site is frowned upon, but I have become very frustrated with other methods of researching non-local acreage properties for sale, as they take way to much time and produce way too much BS. Anyway, I look forward to some illuminating exchanges here :-)
