Newbie in Hampton Roads VA!

Hey family and friends...

I am just starting out in the Portsmouth, VA area but if anyone knows this area knows that the "7 cities" is kind of ONE MAJOR city taken together! So, about me:

Previously held my real estate license (which I will acquire again SOON - within the next 90 days).  I have been interested in real estate investing probably most of my adult life (approx. 17 years).  I got my degree in Athletic Training (Sports Med.) and realized AFTER matriculation that I REALLY didn't want the "rat race" life.  Well, years later I've been losing this battle to fear, procrastination and "excusitis"!

Now, my BURNING PASSION is to:

-revitalize this area with rehabbed properties that add value to this great community

-Specialize in rehab and multi-unit dwellings (flip as well as hold)

-Do the work of MINISTRY by creating training opportunities for the disadvantaged and the unemployed to work on properties doing demo/clean-up/trade learning.  Also, to create "D.R.E.A.M Center" homes (multi unit) for crisis pregnancies, recovering drug addicts, "work-for-a-bed" transitional people, and those in "emergent need".

-To create an income stream that will sustain my family and free me up to do this work FULL TIME!

So, there it is folks...I've bore my soul and my innermost hopes, dreams, and desires on this forum.  I've been this transparent in hopes that someone will read this and be inspired to do something GREAT for someone ELSE!
