Managing Partner from Kansas
Greetings from downtown Wichita! I am so happy to have found Bigger Pockets, as it is truly a learning tree and a great place to share information and advice in the exciting world of real-estate.
I come from a background of finance, marketing and program management in the aviation industry, as well as an interwoven love for real estate. My first job out of high school was managing a real estate office in Iowa - and i have managed properties and am now a managing partner in a 50 year old firm that we are working to grow in all ways.
I hope to learn from each of you, as well as the network I currently enjoy. You can find me on LinkedIn to learn more of my professional and educational background, as well as being a featured business writer.
I hope to connect with you and find more owners to do business with as well. This is a great industry! Thank you for reading!
Warm regards,
Kristen Williams

Welcome to BP Kristen!
What kind of business writing did you do?
What are you looking to get out of BP? What are your current investment goals?
You mentioned you're currently a managing partner in a 50 year old firm that is looking to grow, can you tell me a little bit more about this potential opportunity?
Haha, don't mean to pry, but as a welcome to the BP community, we like to get to know how we can best help you. Help you get in touch with the right people, with the right information, so on and so forth.
Best,
Dom J Jones
Dom - thank you for the reachout, I'm happy to share. I write about leadership, teambuilding, safety issues, emotional intelligence and networking among many other subjects. I had also previously been a content and press writer for Bombardier Aerospace, as well as the developer of social media and the how to of managing it and understanding the analytics behind the marketing.
As a new managing oartner, I came into this purely as a growth motivation, asked by the senior partner to help bring the company into a new Era of real-estate. He is the expert investor, with a long professional history in commercial and residential, primarily operating a residential property appraisal company in our region.
My interest in BP is learning how to navigate and migrate from the current business model to the vision we have for the company. At present, I come in as a kind, but prevailing wind, in an old sea not comfortable with change. The existing structure came from a husband and wife duo who ran the company, and the husband passed away, leaving the wife as property manager, and doing all aspects of the business from A-Z. She has no ownership of the firm.
My challenge is to move it to the next level. Bring on new owners to manage, add new builds such as duplexes, which are really hot in Wichita, and expand into a wider radius. Among many other goals.
There is a great opportunity for us, but managing the human element and financial drive into a healthy balance is a daily work in progress.
How's that for sharing? Lol
