Greetings!

My name is Baron Keel. I am just getting my feet wet with under one year of experience as a licensed real estate agent in Connecticut. I am originally from West Haven, CT., but I currently reside in Bridgeport, CT. I currently work full time as a Century 21 real estate agent and part time overnight at UPS as a high value associate in their loss prevention department. My goal is to complete at least eight transactions this year as an agent and possibly one deal for myself as an investor. I found myself drawn into the Bigger Pockets Community through the podcasts. I have always had an interest in buying my own property and through here I became more interested in finding a niche for myself. I knew I wanted to work in real estate in some capacity and I had no idea how to get started. Once I found out that my mom (a very financially, stable, and successful woman living below her means) lost her home due to foreclosure. I started looking into wholesaling properties but it was too late. My mother still works in her respective field and commands a great salary but she lost her patience with the property after some major setbacks and lessons learned through being a landlord. She now resides in a condo and it's less of a strain for her but letting a home go to foreclosure when it's avoidable isn't an option I agree with? Since then, I left my secure job and I took a blind leap of faith into real estate and earned my CT license to practice. Now I am looking to get approved to buy and hold my first multi family property sometime by the end of this year. Hopefully, though the situation is unfortunate for anyone, there's someone out there that's willing to share a similar story with me and some of their successes on how they or someone they know successfully turned the ball around in their favor. My first and main goal here is to learn more about long term real estate investing through self direct IRA's, buying and holding income producing investment properties, building great relationships with other members. Secondly, I want to successfully assist others in achieving their real estate aspirations and goals. I look forward to speaking with you and good luck!
