Hello
Hello fellow Bigger Pockets,
I have invested in rental properties in the past (early 2000's) and got out of real estate except for one property, due to life, and a bad partnership. I am back now ready to learn from the past experiences, and committed to continue my education while making offers and learning in the marketplace.
At this point in my life I'm pretty cash poor. I've got around 25,000 in equity in the house I live in now, and great credit. The plan I've got for myself is a work in progress, as my knowledge grows my plan changes slightly. The end result being to eventually own rental properties and learn to surf with my kids on some sunny beach, with smaller trips skiing in the rockies.
I've been in the construction industry, and know my way around remodels both big and small. So buying properties, rehabbing, and reselling will be a big part of this early stage for sure. It was also my intention to get into wholesaling, but I've seen some recent threads that lead me to believe some might think this an unethical approach and one that is "hyped" in the current market. My thinking has been that as long as disclosure is a priority how could this be wrong? I've yet to do one wholesale deal so everything up to now is theoretical for me, but I would love to hear opinions, or be pointed in the direction of threads that discuss this.
With all that said I am extremely excited to learn, learn, learn and learn some more all the while making offers and diving into the school of hard knocks so to speak. My spot on the beach is waiting, and I've got nothing but opportunity out there. I'm looking forward to connecting with many of you.
