Follow

I got a notification that someone is "following" me. I understand the concept of following though I'm not quite sure why someone would choose to follow a "rookie" like myself. My assumption is that like on Twitter and Instagram their goal would be that I follow them as well. That really brings me to the reason for this post. How do you follow someone???
