Newbie Currently in New York City

Heloo everyone here on BP. My wife and I are currently living in New York City and we are bother Veterans who are still serving in the service. We are both very interetsed in real estate investing and just starting to educate ourselves Via Books, online engines such as BP, and we recently attended Than Merrill's workshop in the city. 

We are in search of mentors who can guide us through the process and protect us from the scammers and others who take advantage of newbies. We will be asking many questions and hope receive as much information as possible.
