I know there is a lot to learn about buying foreclosures but am willing to get my feet wet.  At 76 I am still capable of swinging a hammer and have done all of the maintenance on my own home the last 46 years.  Added on an addition to my home that was 30x20, changing a 2/1 to a 4/2 split plan.
