I'm just about to close on my first investment property in rural Michigan, where I live and work. It's an 8 bedroom home that I'm purchasing, financed, for 135k. I'm looking forward to doing some light renovation and fixes, and then renting it out. I'm hoping to continue picking up large, older homes to rent out, multi-family properties, or maybe even some apartment buildings in my city and neighboring areas over the next few years to work toward my financial independence and early retirement goals.
