Real Estate investor/ Denver Colorado
Hello Bigger Pockets community,
After dreaming about real estate investing for way to long! I used the profits from selling our family home and actually upgrading to a better one, to launch my real estate investing business. I jumped right in, during the summer of 2014 and purchased 2 single family homes and a condo in the Denver area. With the new income from the business I was able to retire from my job and pursue investing, I know it will be much harder now to build my portfolio, but with plenty of hard work and the educational opportunities and creativity of this community I will meet my goals. I love meeting and learning from fellow investors and landlords. I look forward to making contacts and building relationships with the Bigger Pockets investors!
Thank you, Chris Knutson

Just curious, where did you find cash flowing SFHs in Denver (assuming you used financing and didn't buy cash)?
Good luck with your endeavors!
Hi Daniel, It was a little bit of luck on how I found the SFHs. I have one in Wheat Ridge that I met the sellers at their yard sale before it was listed, we agreed on the price and it appraised for 20k more. After getting outbid several times with other MLS properties and talking with a friend I found out he was selling his parent's house. A one owner home built in 59. Just a small bit of clean up and had it leased in less then 30 days. The condo was a FSBO on craigslist. Got it for about half of todays current market value. It came with a tenant who had been there for 5 years and is still there today. Keep on networking and let people know you are searching for a good deal.
Best of luck and I will keep my eyes open for you too!
