Hello everyone!

My name is John Siver and I am a newbie real-estate investor. Right now my wife and I are house hacking as I finish college up this semester and get my BBA here in a week and a half. I would eventually like to own a large enough real-estate portfolio that I can quit my job. By house hacking I mean we bought an 1800 sq foot 3/2 house near the local 4 year college I am attending and we are renting out the extra 2 bedrooms. The rent from our two tenants completely covers the mortgage/tax/property insurance each month and the living arrangement works since the master bedroom is on the other side of the house from the other 2 bedrooms and we have 2 living rooms. We learned quickly that we are not going to rent to friends in the future-and definitely not live with them. Way too many potential "feelings" and "relationship" damage there. But we like the college student rental model and may pursue it more in the future.
