South Florida Resident New To REI
What's up guys, my name is Steve. I'm 29 from Coconut Creek, FL and brand spankin' new to the Investor World. My interest in Real Estate came to be last February when my father in law (a successful Wall Street Broker/Trader and Hard Money Lender himself) invited me to a real estate investors club meeting in Boca Raton that he's been a long time member of. He has since become almost like a mentor to me. Anyways, the club featured a guest speaker I'm sure a lot of you have heard of named William Bronchick who discussed lots of ways to do Creative Deals using OPM that have worked for him and I thought to myself this all sounds great but that was the end of it for me. I thought I could never do this stuff.
Fast forward to about two months ago I again became interested in the thought of Investing once again. I'm simply fed up of working for somebody else. I feel like I'm forever running on a treadmill. I'm a manager for a very good small company here in Florida. I make 40k salary with all the perks to go with it. 3 weeks of paid vacation, paid holidays off, weekends off, big bonuses (about 7500-10,000 per year). But things like starting a family, being able to retire and owning a home of my own have all become important to me over the last couple years. I cannot do any of those things doing what I am doing now.
I began reading and researching and now its become sort of an obsession to educate myself and make this into a life long career. Every part of this business seems so exciting to me. I came to the realization that all of the things these Guru's claim to teach you for thousands of dollars is essentially available for free. Success in anything is obtainable as long as you're willing to work for it. So here I am now, looking to lock in my first deal. I'm not looking to get rich quick. I'm not expecting any of this to be easy. I am expecting this to be very challenging and equally as rewarding.
I'm interested in Wholesaling at first to "get my feet wet" and build some experience. This website has been a huge help so far in understanding the foundation and basics of Real Estate Investing. I'm currently in the early stages of my journey and looking to make some connections, expand my network, build rapport and gain some real world experience. I'm willing to do anything I need to do to make that happen!
