Hi All!

I'm new-ish to real estate investing so I'll probably be spending the next couple month working my way through the suggested readings and the podcasts (on #6 currently!).  I say new-ish because I did have one rental property that wasn't so much an investment as a desperate bid to stave off foreclosure after the 08 crash and a forced relocation (ah, military life).  So, experience renting to a tenant, no experience investing!  Also, I've read Rich Dad, Poor Dad.  That counts, right?  Anyway, as per the 25 Smart Tips, I've got a little bit of time, a little bit of money.  Time to start working on that knowledge.  My first goal is to acquire one rental property by Q1 2016, likely in the $150K range.

I'm a CPA and I actually love my 40 hour/week job.  No really.  I'm a total numbers geek and proud owner of an "I <3 excel" shirt.  But I'm looking for a little bit of a challenge and hopefully to make a little bit of money too!  I am NOT a CPA that does taxes on a regular basis.  So if you have a tax question, I'll give it a go (maybe) but always with the disclaimer that you should consult a tax professional.

I have two young kids and as previously alluded to, a retired-Marine husband.  Looking forward to stealing everyone's knowledge!
