Hello all! I stumbled across the podcast which led me here.
A little about me. I am in my mid-fourties. I retired from the Army after a 20 year career. I then started my own consulting company that has had excellent success. But it has required a lot of traveling and I am ready to spend more time with my family. The plus side is I will be selling my company soon and after taxes I will be walking away with about $2.5M. I have been fortunate.
Which brings me here. I am interested in investing in real-estate eventually but have no experience with it other than buying my own house. I am intrigued by house flipping but after 20 years in the Army I have no desire to get my hands dirty nor do I want to be on site overseeing everything. I am thinking about becoming a hard money lender. The research aspect of it appeals to me, it isn't something I have to work on every day, and if I do everything right the ROI looks to be very promising.
So I am hoping to learn everything I can here about the process. If anyone can recommend some reading to get me started with an emphasis on being a HML I would also greatly appreciate it. Thanks everyone!
