My wife and I have been talking about investing in a multiplex for years as our first home in order to help us get out of the rental rat race and developing stable cash flow. My wife has just started her PHD and is actively looking for a full time job. I am a full time electrician and have worked in almost every trade of building a house there is. I have been trying to build a decent knowledge base for what to look out for in renovation projects as well as trying to set myself up for being able to do most of my own work, whether it's renovation or rental repair. I'm almost ready to make my first steps in pursuing our dream of financial freedom and am hoping to find a good group of friend/mentors to walk this path in our life with.
