Newbie looking to network in NY, NJ border

After getting my PhD in chemistry, I started a career teaching at a great private school. While I plan to continue my day job, I have always had an interest in the real estate market. Specifically, I love to see an older home restored to its original beauty. They just don't make them like they used to! For the duration of my childhood, I watched and participated as my parents rehabbed their 1900s farmhouse. So when my husband and I were looking for property, we ended up purchasing a house from 1740 that needed a complete rebuild of the second story. After 1 year, a new second story, two new bathrooms, and a LOT of hard work, we are now enjoying our new and improved historic farmhouse. We plan to stay in this house for the long haul while we pursue new projects to kick start our real estate investing. So far I love all of the resources that bigger pockets has to offer and am looking forward to connecting with other real estate investors.
