Making it happen from halfway around the world!
Hi everyone,
My name is Paul Harvey, no joke, and I'm from upstate Washington in the hot pursuit of attaining my dreams.
I'm currently halfway around the world and have finally pulled the trigger on buying a house back home with cash only, as an investment. Bigger Pockets is a huge advantage for everything that I'm doing over here. Thank you guys @Joshua Dorkin and the crew for the great info. Not to mention @Brandon Turner for an amazing book, Investing in Real Estate.... Best part about the past few days was having a real estate agent tell me "That's pretty unusual" about how I wanted the contract changed ( a few dates/ times). And the previous day "you may want to reconsider that offer, they've just upgraded all these items..." having to do with my awesome, yet embarrassing, offer. But hey, glad to be here.

Update on this house. I offered cash at a price 57% below the original price. Seller countered back with 38% from original price. I've just offered 50% original price, land contract at 5% over 10 years with $1000 down while paying closing costs. Fingers crossed.
