Right now I'm just trying to figure this out before I make a big leap. I am interested in investing in my community but it's a distressed area so I have.concerns about it. I live in an area hit by hurricane Katrina then impacted by the BP oil spill. There are a lot of foreclosures available but not a lot of buyers. I think I want to focus on fix and hold. I completed my BS in Accounting in 2014 and I'd really like to apply what I've learned. I've also had a hard time.finding employment here since the economy is so bad. I figure if I can fix and rent some properties around me I'd be helping revive the community as well as helping myself. So hello everyone; happy I found this place.

Welcome. We have weathered (no pun intended) Ivan, Katrina, BP, and the Great Recession along the Gulf Coast, so it can be done. Good luck.
