New investor in Southwest Florida

Hello My name is Chris DeLucien and I currently own a home in Southwest Florida (Fort Myers area) Im new to the entire investing game and have recently dived in to the BP Pro side of things as well. What really got me going about real estate was an opportunity to generate wealth beyond what is entailed by this so-called "rat race". My wife and my kids are my first priority. I want to build a solid future for both them and I. A little about me: As my profile states, I am a live audio engineer, which means that I am traveling for work nearly 9 months out of the year. I have worked with some of the largest names in the music industry (Morrissey, Kings of Leon, One direction, Rihanna, etc.). Although my career is a huge part of my life, I want to start building wealth so I can spend more time with my wife and kids, and spend a bit more time at home. My passion for real estate sparked from an impulse buy at Barnes and Noble. On the shelf, I noticed "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", read the outline and it struck a chord with me, so I bought it. The next week I found myself completely absorbed in the mantras of that book. It was eat, sleep, and breathe Real Estate at that point. I finished reading it in 2 days, and stumbled onto Bigger Pockets. And although it's only been a month since picking up that book, I have found myself devoting a couple hours a day into this new endeavor with podcasts, articles, and webcasts. I have since narrowed my sights onto what I think will be a great start for me. I look to purchase my first buy and hold in the next month or so and am more than excited to learn all I can along the way - the fact that it can provide an enormous amount of financial security for me and my family has helped in the way of motivation.
