Newbie from Derby, CT

Hello,

I am a newbie from Derby, CT.  I am new to Real Estate and I am just learning the investing business.  I have not made any business purchases yet, the only knowledge I have at this time in Real estate, would be my first time home owner purchase of my personal home. I have been working full time as a paralegal, ironically, not in real estate law. I do have some knowledge of CT landlord/tenant laws, and some probate laws pertaining to real estate.

My goals are to obtain rental properties as well as a few fix and flip properties.  I would like to learn more about Wholesale properties and apartment complex rentals.  I am currently, working on a business plan so that I can have a road map to my future and get a better idea of my niche.  I would also like to own boarding homes so that people can rent rooms from me.

I came to Bigger Pockets after I was researching Success Path. I went to one  their seminars, and I was very excited and felt like this was something I wanted to get into however, I didn't have the money they were asking for to start up. Throughout my research to see if that company was a scam or not,  I came across Bigger Pockets. I read about both companies and took my chances here and found this site to be very helpful and they do not ask for any money. Everything that Success Path was offering for $3,000, Bigger Pockets offers for free, along with the support of the other investors and reading their success stories are so wonderful, and encouraging. To know that someone had the same fear and over came that fear and shared their story, really helps a person to stay focused and eager to just do it.  Bigger Pockets feels like a big investing family that continues to grow. I LOVE IT!

I Appreciate everyone that shared their stories good or bad, and I would like to wish all newbies the best of luck and welcome them to Bigger Pockets.
