My name is Richard Hairston. I'm a military brat. I was born in Germany but raised in a small town called Valdosta, GA. I've been in Real Estate since Oct 2009 when I purchased my first home as a rental shortly after getting out of the military (Air Force). I've also done a handful of rehabs and am currently hoping to finish my last one with a partner of mine in Nebraska. I went on to do contracting work overseas in 2011 and have finally settled in VA with my fiancé who is currently still in the military.

During my work abroad, I met my mentor Sean Carroll who I immediately realized was very business savvy and began talking to him.  He opened the first Thai/American real estate company in Thailand back in 2002 and recently asked me if I would like to come on board with him helping him find funding and putting deals together.  Although I wouldn't consider myself an expert in this field, he's doing a good job giving me the tools and information I need in order to get the knowledge he has.

I have always envied seeing big apartment complexes and developments being created.  I've always told myself I want to get to that point one day and when I do, I'll know I've succeeded in my goals.  For now, I'm just looking to continue working with Sean and assisting him and in the meantime, looking for deals to continue to add to my portfolio such as multi units starting out small and slowly doing more and more.  This is another reason I've decided to join BP because I read a blog about the positive feedback and all the resources they had to offer.  One thing I've come to know is, you can never stop learning and the more you continue to grow, the further you will go.
