A surfer with big dreams, Newport Beach, CA

My name is Zach Hoffman, but sometimes I go by Zachary J. Hoffman to distinguish myself from all the other people that have copied my name. I am so blessed to be from Southern California where I was born and raised. Let's just say that for me life happens in the water. When I'm surfing, I feel like a little kid again. As I bob up and down, waiting in the right spot for the best waves, I'm a weightless part of the vast expanse of the ocean and I feel truly free. Then for the 10 seconds I'm actually riding the wave, I'm completely in the moment and all my senses are firing as I ride the energy of the swell.

If I could stay in the water forever I would, however I believe that God has given me certain talents and capabilities which I have the responsibility to use to make the world a better place. That is my motivation for real estate. I desire to be an unstoppable force for good in this world, and right now real estate investing looks like one of the best ways to gain the resources necessary to do that. I know I don't need money to impact the world, but there are certain opportunities that having money creates. I feel called to this. ( I also really want to stop being a waiter at some point in my life.)

I've been learning A TON about REI from Bigger Pockets and various books. I'm building a foundation and very much still in the education phase. I haven't found my niche yet, although I know that out of state investing will be my start as my local market in Costa Mesa/Newport Beach is far too expensive. I'm currently taking courses to get a Real Estate License and plan on becoming a Realtor.

Thanks for reading! Cheers!

How about you teach me how to surf and I teach you out-of-state real estate investing! :) I have a funboard, and can stand up in the whitewater, but haven't the foggiest of what to do on a real wave.
