New to Real Estate investing

Hello, I am a Firefighter/Paramedic/RN that is interested in real estate investing on a small scale to start. I'd like to boost my monthly income even if only minimal positive cash flow in the beginning.  I live in NJ however 3-4 days per week I am in the DC area so my investing will most likely be in the Baltimore area to start as this seems the most affordable for my budget. I am a handy, motivated and hard working person not expecting a cash cow or windfall as I realize it will take time to build up to larger positive cash flow per month. Thank you.

Good luck, Dino, and welcome to BP.  In my past life I was a public safety officer (combined police and fire) for a city department in California.  Now I make $18 per month in real estate and @Mindy Jensen owes me the other Bajillion dollars, however much that is.
