Brian Hogan - Vegas Pro looking for RV Resorts in CA/OR

Hi everyone - I've seen BiggerPockets for some time and looked forward to the day when I "had a real reason" to be here.  Joyfully, that time has come!

For 20+ years, I've operated and consulted with businesses in both Carolinas, New York, Nevada, and California, working primarily in the fields of hospitality, retail, food & beverage, and IT. I've been involved in a number of business deals and made a couple myself some years ago. Sadly, that's where I learned the hard way that even with the best planning, accurate projections, and all the right things in place, events beyond our control can still come into play (9/11 in my case).  This caused me to change my focus to finding opportunities which can survive brutal economic shifts.

I moved to Vegas in 2004 to start over and boy, did I!  Touring and producing shows with Oompa Loompas, 7-foot glamazons, life-sized bunny rabbits and a whole freakshow of fun... saving businesses from the 2008 bubble burst, and turning the dilapidated remains of Downtown Vegas/Fremont Street into a bright, safe, enjoyable, entertainment powerhouse in the Entertainment Capital of the World. I'm not a party animal, instead preferring to create spaces, events, and properties wherein people can enjoy themselves.

After spending the past 11 years helping to transform Las Vegas, I'm looking to start a new project based in the Northern California/Southern Oregon region, reforming RV Parks into flexible RV/Cabin resorts and utilizing my personal connections with AirBNB and various celebrity tastemakers in order to raise the profile and profits of these properties. My long-term goal is to build a network of such resorts within a corridor to benefit even more from scale and word of mouth and build a brand which appeals to a wider demographic.

I've taken a different tack to joining the real estate game by helping a close friend obtain his real estate license here in Nevada, so I can also refer anyone needing assistance in NV, especially Las Vegas, to a trusted realtor if needed.  My background is in business, not real estate, which is why I focus on operating businesses which include real estate as part of the deal.  Of course, I'll happily help analyze any business deals to whatever degree I legally can.

I'm excited (and verbose!) about this world that I've always looked at but never joined.  Thanks for this community and your participation in it (yes, you!) - we're all here to make good things happen and that tends to lead to good results. Hope to hear from you guys!
