Greetings all!

I am a pilot in the Navy, currently stationed in the South of Spain. The family and I will be relocating to Washington State within the next few years, and I will be able to retire shortly thereafter. We have roots in Whidbey Island and I am committed to Real Estate Investment in the area. We own 2 SFHs there, which are rented out. As I understand the 50% rule, they are not cash flowing well, but they are appreciating given the Oak Harbor market and the growing Naval Air Station.

I am attracted in particular to Rehabbing and accumulating a good size Buy and Hold portfolio. I'm convinced that there is value for an investor in also becoming a Real Estate Agent, so I will be pursuing that license once I return.

The Biggerpockets community is an incredible resource and I'm glad to have found it. I listen to all the podcasts (mostly through Youtube) and will be working my way through the wealth of information on the website. I agree with Ben Leybovich's recent blog and feel that Pro membership is important for me because, among other things, this online resource shouldn't be considered free. I have also read Gary Keller's "Millionaire Real Estate Investor" and am working my way through J Scott's excellent "Book on Flipping."

Looking forward to learning more and making friends as I go!

-Seth
