About me, early 30's small landscape construction family business owner. I currently own a home with an apartment that I rent out to help supplement income. My goal within 10-15 years is have my current home paid off (on track to have this done in 12 years) and have purchased 2-3 more rental properties. My plan is around that time to relocate to south florida and use the equity I will have in my current home by that time to purchase a home there and possibly one more on long island. Im not sure the terminology but even if the rental homes do not generate a profit as long as they are covering mortgage and other costs by the rental income so that within 20-25 years everything will be paid off and I can collect the rent on all the properties as income for retirement down the road. I have a friend who is a contractor who is looking to invest in properties more for flipping (which I am also interested in) and I have another friend who is interested in the rental aspect that I spoke of. I know having partners cuts my percentages down but it also increases our purchasing power. Anyway Im looking forward to finally getting something going as I have been talking about this a long time and the landscape business is not what it used to be and in my eyes is not going to provide me with the comfortable life I desire.
