Apple Inventory Specialist in Colorado just getting started

Hello fellow BPers,

My name is Paul. I live in the subburbs of Denver, and work in Boulder. I just started looking into real estate investing. I'm looking to get my real estate license, and just found a mentor or "Shepard" as he likes to call it. I'm also going back to school to get a bachelors in business management with an emphasis on finance.

I'm currently an Inventory Specialist at the Apple Retail store. However, I'm looking to become a realtor. My goals in real estate really depends on how far down the road you want to look at, but ultimately I would say to establish greater security for my family and to give and give back to those who have helped me a long the way.

I found bigger pockets because I've always been self taught on investing and how to make my money work for me and my goals. My wife and I have decided to purchase a property before she gets into medical school and we are no longer able to get a mortgage. We want this property to be at least self sustaining if not income producing especially while she is in school. I did a Google search for how to buy a duplex and biggerpockets.com was the most useful site I could find. From there I found the podcast and began hearing how I could invest in real estate as my job. I'm just getting the rubber to the road and I'm very excited to have found something that excites me as much as this does.

Thank you for having such a welcoming, open and respectful place for new people to come.

~ Paul

Welcome to BP Paul

Some items to check out that I found very beneficial:

The BP ultimate Beginners Guide can be found here

Check out the BP Podcasts They are an amazing source of information

I also recommend reading J. Scotts book published by Bigger Pockets which can be found here

As well as @Brandon Turner book "The book on investing in real estate with no or low money down" Its also in the running for longest book title ever. In all seriousness its a great book.

Best of luck
