Hello everyone.  My name is Brenda Atkinson, I work in financial services at a regional bank.  I'm so glad I found this site!  I'm excited about my new venture and am grateful for all the information and inspiration.

I've owned my primary residence in Smyrna GA. for about 20 years.  A few years back I lost a job I thought I would have for a lifetime.  It was a real wake up call, and a bottom I hope to never return.  So I went back to college and stayed to get an MBA.  All things happen for a reason.  Recently, that job I thought I would have forever offered me a pension buyout, and I took it.

I just closed on my first investment property.  It's a town-home just minutes from my house.  I got it for $73,500, putting in $3,500 for repairs, and it appraised for $90k.  That's a deal, right?  I plan to rent it out and have a few questions on the best way to market a rental.  I should get $400-$500 a month cash flow from it.

According to experts, this area is about to have a boom in real estate.  I love this area and really want to own more of it.  My first deal basically landed in my lap.  I don't expect them all to work that way.  I'd really like to hook up with other investors in this area, maybe get a partner.  I'm not sure where this is going but I'm in for the journey.
