Hi Everyone!

Exciting to actually become a member.  I'm Preston and I'm from Erie, Co. I found the site about a year ago.  I would read some of the posts here and there and found it super interesting.  Eventually I started downloading the podcasts - they make my work commute so much better!

I'm 26 and became interested in RE when I was about 19.  My dad was selling his rental property.. which he never talked about.  The same tenant had lived there for over 15 years!  The property was pretty outdated but overall in good shape.  I was starting college and didn't have a summer job so he gave me the money and let me fix everything up for the sale.  Gaining an understanding of all the ins and outs of a single family rental property, I ultimately became most interested in the fact that they could be so profitable.

Fast forward - I went and got an undergrad degree in business with a concentration in real estate.  I did some internships with brokers and property managers and still didn't know what I wanted to do.  I then went and got a masters in urban planning.  I'm currently interning with a real estate development firm in Lakewood.

I'm interested in development but I also want to have a strong investment portfolio one day - one that let me 'retire' before I'm old and worn out!  I know there are many ways to go about this but real estate has become my passion.

Great to be here and I look forward to talking with everyone and continuing to learn about real estate investing!!

-Preston
