Louisville college student looking to start investing

Sorry for the big paragraph. I know this is supposed to be brief.

My name is Joshua. I am born and raised in Louisville, KY. I'm a junior at the University of Louisville, studying political science and going through Army ROTC. Hopefully when I graduate I'll be an Active Duty officer.

A major thing that both my parents and cadre encourage me to do is invest. I've been wanting to get into it for years since I first watched Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University.

My experience in RE: I have, up to this point, never invested into real estate before and just began looking at real estate in detail over the past year. My mom just recently became a RE agent, so I guess that influences me too.

My eventual goal in real estate is to be able to invest to the point that it is practically a second income if not better than my main pay as an officer.

I found Bigger Pockets last night when I looked up, "How to start investing into real estate." It seemed to be the best result, a great resource and I'm pretty stoked that I found it.
