Memphis, TN new member here
Hey Bigger Pockets, thanks for having me. My name is Erik Cooper and I live in Marion, AR right across the Mississippi River from Memphis, TN. I work in Memphis at a company called MHC Kenworth. It's a big truck dealership with parts, service, sales, body shop, leasing, the full works. I've been with the company a few years now and it's helped to stabilize my life a little but it's not a job I enjoy. I don't look forward to work everyday. I have 0 experience in real estate and I'm not sure if it's something I will eventually be able to do full time and enjoy doing my job everyday or if it's something that will just contribute to my finances but I know it's something I want to learn and do in some capacity. I'm hoping it will be the former. My goals are preferably to build myself into a full time investor. I'm just getting into learning the industry and luckily Bigger Pockets is the first place I came across. I've learned more reading the beginning of the guide and listening to a few podcasts than I could've imagined. Especially the "don't waste your money in a guru spiel." My goal with being on Bigger Pockets is to learn all I can and to
hopefully network with some investors in my area. I have a lot of skills I can use to help out with established investors and soak in the experience they've built over the years. Doing is learning and I want to learn from those who have done. I'm not looking to get rich quick so much as I'm looking to learn the business and slowly build myself into a new career and do better things for my family. Hopefully I can network well here and my area is established here on the forums. I'm looking forward to a time in the not so distant future where I can be contributing my knowledge to the forums rather than just absorbing the knowledge of others. Thanks for taking the time to read my long winded intro and I hope to discuss with you soon!
