Newbie From Chicago Here!
Hey all,
My name is Andrew. 33 years old. Living in Chicago on the Northside. I have a wife, one boy, and a girl on the way. I've been a lifelong renter and in recent years I've rented directly from owners of the property. I found that I always wanted to be in the position of the landlord, not the renter. Today I made the decision to jump deeper into the world of Real Estate investing and found this site and I am PUMPED to get going.
I'm ready to get as much help as I can and once I actually start getting good at it give back in return. I'm sure many of you have been in my position now and are in that spot now where you can give.
I look forward to connecting here in the forums and learning a ton from you all!
Hit me up!

- Welcome! It is great that you made the decision to invest in real estate. My suggestion would be to speak with a lender first, have them run your numbers and see where you are at. You could have 20% down but get denied because of your DTI and you won't know what you can and cannot do until you speak with them. Feel free to PM me and I can give you some referrals.
I started with a owner occupied 3 unit in Chicago and now am a full time investor with 59 units, so it can be done. You just need to make the choice and make the sacrifice.
